The Dad Bod 2.0 is JT’s new take on the popular and versatile original. Maintaining the same attributes that made the first Dad Bod model a fan favorite, the 2.0 provides an upgrade in performance and adaptability, thereby setting this design as the new supreme one-board-quiver in the JT lineup.

Mellow entry rocker generates abundant speed in the lackluster conditions of summer, and with changing seasons, the Dad Bod 2.0 still holds unwavering in overhead winter swells with the addition of a pulled-in winged swallowtail. This board can be surfed year-round with confidence, even when the conditions are unpredictable.

This all-condition blade is an excellent board for both beginner surfers looking to progress and advanced surfers who want something reliable yet fun that can still hold through turns, blast through flat sections, and generate enough speed to get above the lip.

Ample foam distributed beneath the chest region allows for easy paddling, quick entry, and rapid acceleration. Upgrading the tail has enhanced the 2.0 for steeper surfing in the pocket, more vertical turns, and fast rail-to-rail transitions.

Almost intuitively, this board goes where you please and with speed to spare. Shaping for the local conditions of San Diego, this is JT’s solution to the board choice predicament we all face before heading to the coast.

We recommend adding 1-2 Liters from your regular shortboard and +.5-1L. more than the original Dad Bod.

Carbon/Kevlar Construction - Introducing the latest innovation from Dark Arts, the Carbon/Kevlar construction. This state-of-the-art layup interlinks the best of both materials through a vacuum bagging process, providing a board that retains both chop-dampening characteristics and a familiar sense of drive underfoot.

The carbon kevlar cloth is a plain weave hybrid 3k fabric. The addition of plain weave carbon nose and tail patches provides extra protection. The 3” carbon tape on the deck provides a liveliness to the hybrid weave. Coupled with our signature plain weave bottom this layup combined with an EPS stringerless blank is high performance with a good blend of kevlar dampening.
