Adam J. Warden began shaping at the age 14.   With a passion for surfing and the desire to build the best possible equipment. Adam has found himself spending as much time in the shaping room as traveling the world to surf. He has worked in over 25 different shaping bays throughout the mainland US, Hawaii, Australia, Mexico, South America, S.Africa, Japan, and annual shaping trips to Europe. 

Most recently spending more time in Portugal… Adam has been extremely fortunate in developing his skills by working with top manufacturers throughout the industry, and is very grateful to everyone who has helped along the way from shapers, glassers, sanders, and especially all the riders which have supported the AJW throughout the years

An all around easy and fun board to ride in everyday conditions.  The design is based off of AJW's Original Potato Launcher, which is a serious tube rider, but is the mellower Twin sister that you can hang out with everyday.  A bit flatter and wider for everyday mush waves, yet still has the rocker curves and same fin placement of the Original PL1 that can still sideslip into some throaty sections. The proof is in the pudding. This is an AJW customer staple for travel or everyday quiver.

The AJW Classic “Twin” has a slightly pulled in tail + a dash of extra belly rocker to be ridden a bit more critical than your standard extra wide keel fin.  With our tad of extra belly rocker, you can ride this board in slightly bigger waves as well as in the small stuff yet it will still fit in the power source of the wave. This board likes to surfed fast.

Utilizing a fishy outline upfront while integrating a more performance-oriented rocker and pulled-in tail, this twin fin can be surfed with more precision in tight pockets than other typical fish designs.

This design originated from “STAB” magazine's very 1st airshow at the WACO wave pool.  Stab invited all the best ‘Aerial’ surfers from around the world to showcase who could land the craziest maneuver on a surfboard. One of those invitees was Matt Meola of Maui, Hawaii.  At the time, AJW had never met nor shaped Meola a board, yet he ordered 3 boards as he was going to test a batch of different shapers boards at the pool prior to the event.  His only requests: NEEDS to GO FAST + Extra POP, while hopefully stable enough to recover smoothly.

What AJW came up with was a 5’5″ slightly flatter yet semi fuller nose for a shortboard, a twist of their Xstump. This surfboard has extra volume in the front foot for stability and has a dropped tail rocker that is more similar to a fish rocker below 2″.  AJW added soft, forgiving rails, combined with deeper concaves.  

The very 1st session, Matt landed what some are calling one of  the craziest airs to date doing a full backside ‘McTwist FLIP,’ and was later nominated at the Surfer Poll Awards as the “Maneuver of the Year.”

Not only is the board extremely forgiving for guys attempting crazy AIRs it is primarily a good daily driver fun board in everyday beach breaks. The surfboard paddles easy to get speed and its overall stability is forgiving in surf. If you like speed and to go for big sections,  this is the board for you!  Works best when ordered 3-4″ shorter and 1/2″ wider than regular shortboard.  Have FUN go BIG!
